Mulcahy is currently Chairman, Save the Children, and the former Chairman and CEO, Xerox Company. In 2007 Fortune magazine ranked her the 2nd most powerful female CEO, and in
2008 Chief Executive Officer magazine named her “CEO of the Year.” These accolades were earned after leading the rescue of Xerox from near bankruptcy due to a “perfect storm” of managerial, business, and financial crises.
Now the Chairman of Save the Children, Mulcahy served as Chairman and CEO of Xerox for ten years, capping a 34 year career at Xerox. She is enshrined in the business leadership “hall of fame” for her success in leading the ailing Xerox from the brink of bankruptcy to reinvigorated profitability, morale, and sustainable performance. But the path was not always easy or straightforward. We’ll discuss ethical challenges she has faced, her thoughts on gender issues in leadership, and what business can learn from non-profits – to name just a few subjects!
